Modeling Network Capacity for Urban Multimodal Transportation Applications

چکیده
Since the diversity of urban transport modes and growth public demands recently, it is essential to consider multiple mode options in network capacity problem. This paper derives a comprehensive model from single-mode transportation with only route choice multimodal both choice. To avoid biases evaluation capacity, two characteristics system are considered modeling formulating problem: (1) interaction between cars buses explicitly reflected when they share same link; (2) correlation travel alternatives (modes or routes) measured by developing combined modal split traffic assignment (CMSTA) problem, which nested logit (NL) employed account for similarity split, while path-size (PSL) overlapping assignment. Numerical experiments demonstrate new model. It also shows how planning schemes management strategies affect via real case.

Abstract Since transportation infrastructure projects have a lifetime of many decades, project developers must consider not only the current demand for the project but also the future demand. متن کاملSpatio-temporal Matching for Urban Transportation Applications
In this paper we present a search problem in which mobile agents are searching for static resources. Each agent wants to obtain exactly one resource. Both agents and resources are spatially located on a road network and the movement of the agents is constrained to the road network. This problem applies to various transportation applications including: vehicles (agents) searching for parking (re...
متن کاملA Decision Support System for Urban Journey Planning in Multimodal Public Transit Network
The goal of this paper is to develop a Decision Support System (DSS) as a journey planner in complex and large multimodal urban network called Rahyar. Rahyar attempts to identify the most desirable itinerary among all feasible alternatives. The desirability of an itinerary is measured by a disutility function, which is defined as a weighted sum of some criteria. The weight...
متن کاملModeling spatial relationships between multimodal transportation infrastructure and traffic safety outcomes in urban environments
The interest in multimodal transportation improvements in urban areas is increasing in cities across the U.S. Improved access to multimodal transportation attracts new users, but can possibly increase their exposure to risk from crashes, particularly in areas where the ‘‘safety in numbers” phenomenon does not exist. The relationship between access to multimodal transportation and safety in urba...
